The Swiss Association of Music Publishers (Schweizer Verband der Musikverlage) was founded at the MIDEM in Cannes on 23 January 1990 and has since become one of the leading institutions in this field. In 2018 the SVMV reinvented itself and set new objectives for the future. The comprehensive knowledge gained from 30 years of experience is to be enriched through new ideas, creativity and innovation.
The SVMV supports its members and the Swiss music landscape in implementing its objectives. It actively carries out public relations work, puts forward the interests of its members in dealings with the authorities, associations and organisations on the music market and promotes collaboration. By providing regular information about developments and trends as well as exchanging the knowledge gained over several generations, the association actively contributes to the training and further training of professionals.
The Managing Board is composed of up to seven publishers, who deal with individual files on an honorary basis in the following areas:
